KARIMA SUNDRANI

It took globe trotting Karima Sundrani almost thirty years to visit her ancestral country, India, but took only moments to feel its power. Karima was born and raised in Montreux, Switzerland. She started her business career as a purchaser for various large Telecom companies and was soon heading the marketing communications department for a software development company in Zürich. The beautiful gemstones, the exquisite jewelry, and the rich culture she discovered in India inspired her to create jewelry of her own. Within months she was studying gemology at the Swiss Gemological Institute. She continues to be inspired by gemstones' natural beauty and countries from which they come (www.sundrani.com).

MICHIKO NAGASAKA

Michiko Nagasaka, originated from Japan, is an acclaimed journalist and author with several books to her name. After many years of experience in the world of fashion & life style and living in cities as cosmopolitan and different as Tokyo, Paris, New York, and London, she started to see things in a new light and sought a way to express her wish for a better world. Thus, the idea was born to open a concept store that offers beautiful things made to high standards of craftsmanship and explicitly incorporating fair trade principles. She named this concept store "fairy tale select", a name that reflects her two passions, "elegant shopping" and "a sustainable world for our children".
